SE Head Unit

Featured Replies

HI There

I have the symphony head unit in my SE. Love the sound very pleased. But want to get my Ipod to attached to this

But cause the SE has the CD changer, can i still add the connects adapter to the HU for the Ipod?

let me know what i can do

Phil

Connecting an MP3 player will effectively render the changer surplus to requirements anyway!

I'm thinking of doing something similar.

Connects2 do a couple of kits that plug in where the CD changer does.

One kit with a 3.5mm jack or one with an iPod specific one for a few more £££s (about £30-£65 depening on kit).

Parrot also do kits, MKi9000 and 9100/9200 which allow bluetooth connectivity for handsfree calling and then leads to connect MP3 players/iPods for music (about £80-£130 depending on kit).

With any of the above you can then remove the CD hanger from under the passenger seat and get the storgae cubby hole in non CD-changer models which is under a tenner from a dealer.

I bought the Connects2 module for my SE. It does away with the CD changer but it's not needed if you connect an iPod anyway. You can forward / reverse through songs and select up to 6 playlists, although the playlist selection is a bit hit and miss. Pressing CD button 1 doesn't always play playlist 1 etc but if you know the basic listing of each playlist you can get to the one you're after by hitting different CD buttons. The one I bought will not charge iPhones (I think the new one does, not sure) so I bought a cheap iPod Mini and just leave it in the car.

Sorry to barge in here, but if I were to buy the Connects2 lead mentioned above for my SE, would it be fitted under the passanger seat or behind the H/U?

Thanks

Liam

The box conveniently fits above the stereo, Just behind the dash switches, You then route the cable out through the cubby or through to the glovebox.emoticon-0148-yes.gif
