Climate Control

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

Just, for the first time, seen the standard air con dials and decided they were possibly the biggest let down ever! My car's due to be built next Monday and due to the rather rubbish communication I get from the dealer, wondered if you guys could enlighten me.

I was thinking about getting the upgraded Climate Control unit added on as an extra but obviously with the car being built next week, not sure if this will be possible and I worry that it may hamper my chances of the car being built so soon?

My other option would obviously be a retro-fit. Is it possible to get the climate control retro-fitted or is factory order only?

Cheers

Mine came without climate control due to a mess up at the dealer.

It didn't seem like retro-fitting climate was possible. But the dealers didn't seem that clued up about that sort of thing. Perhaps yours will be.

I dare say it's possible, but probably financially unfeasible unless you're doing all the work yourself. Then there's the question of whether it would affect the warranty.

For what it's worth the basic air-con controls in mine (while not pretty) are perfectly nice to use.

All the best.

I don't think it is feasible as an upgrade due to all the different temperature sensors, wiring etc. and even if they could as Louis mentioned it will be damn expensive making the whole idea not worth the hassle and money.

Also keep in mind plastics and dashboards that come out never get back together perfect and the squeaking orchestra will commence after a few miles. :giggle:

True dat.

Yeah, fair point guys. Cheers for the advice. I don't know, I really think it's going to annoy me but then again, i'm sure the rest of the car will MORE than make up for the crappy dials. Think they're such a let down considering the rest of the car while very bland, looks at least relatively modern. The dials look like they're straight out of my 54 plate corsa!? I really don't get it. I guess it all comes to cost saving eh!

And yeah, the 'squeeking orchestra' would p**s me off something rotten! heat shielding has just came loose under my corsa just now and it's doing my t*ts in cos I notice it over the music now. it's not even that loud but by god does it irritate me!

It might bug you for now but I believe you will not even think about it soon as you get your beauty on the road. B)

I'm sure i'll cope with standard dials after I see it in the metal. So long as everything else is right with it I guess I can't complain. 20 and I'm getting (within real terms of affordability etc.) dream motor. I'll shut up and stop moaning I guess. haha! :)
