Grinding noise when on full lock

Featured Replies

Hi, Done a search but can't find anything...

Whenever I go on full lock at low speeds, I can hear a grinding noise from the front. It doesn't sound perticularly dramatic, like somethings about to fall off or anything.

Any suggestions as to what this could be and if I should be worried?

Thanks

I get something similar, like a knocking noise but it's only been since I have lowered it, I am interested to see what answers this thread gets!

I'd look at C.V Joints

Really? I don't know about the OP but for me it is only knocking when on full lock.

Mine was in reply to the OP tbf, I class a knock and a grind as different things. Put yours on full lock and see if the ARB is very close to the driveshaft

Hi Gumby

Did you ever get this sorted?

I am having this same problem on a Fabia I. Rubbing sound when at or near full right lock only. Not metallic sound in any way, sounds just like a tyre rubbing the arch but neither of them are anywhere near. Everything is standard.

My wheel alignment is out as it's pulling to the left and getting inside shoulder wear on front right tyre but I cannot find any evidence of anything rubbing.

Getting the alignment done tomorrow so hoping it will sort it. Its the only thing I can think it could be.

Cheers

Rich
