A dealer successfully 'outed' for poor service and a hard cash lesson learnt by one of our members. Next time I'm sure he'll shop around a little more - and bear in mind you don't necessarily need to use an internet broker to get a fair deal, as many of us can testify!

From all the posts I've read here and in another related thread it appears that it is the 'dealership' that let the side down not the dealer, and judging by Yetiflute's post below he seems to concur. :thumbup:

I would like to hopefully finalise this thread (many valid points made therein and thanks for the support) by reporting that all is now well and Deborah has worked hard to secure for me a new deal to my entire satisfaction. I would rather not now go into the ins and outs of whether all this should have been sorted at the time of placing the order.

The best news is that as well as today ringing me up to tell me that - she also told me the car arrived - to our mutual surprise - today and I will be collecting it on Thursday. The £150 SUK delay compensation is all in hand and I have secured a more than excellent insurance deal. I took out that very useful 7 day temporary Skoda insurance to cover the registration and taxing of the vehicle by the dealer and while chatting to the Skoda insurance rep he offered me a £50 introductory discount off an already very reasonable (by today's standards) annual quote. So I have taken on immediately the 12 months Skoda insurance (very full cover) for a total cost of £217 which I consider very reasonable for a Yeti 170 Elegance. Bear in mind that this is a one off introductory discount.

So - only 6 more days to go which is excellent since the confirmed build date was supposed to be only last week - a SUK error somewhere there - but in my favour.

All sorted then...BRILL...A small but well meaning bunch of flowers to Deb's then?!! perhaps???? B)

I have also used Skoda Insurance (Allianz) and found them to be very good. Makes my £465 seem very steep, but I do live in a high risk postcode area.....and it includes 10% for the remap.emoticon-0136-giggle.gif. This compares favourably with my previous BMW530d £500 3 1/2 years ago and the Octavia about £450 18 months ago and my VW 1.4CL Polo of £500 6 months agoemoticon-0140-rofl.gif. No I don't understand that one either.....

Not so.

The establishment will pay utilities and, depending upon whether it is owned or rented, capital charges or rental on the space, plus the cost of servicing it. It sounds like her employer needs to establish whether having meeting space is cost effective and if not 1) change the asset into a more profitable income generation opportunity...education...perhaps 2) dispose of it or 3) rent it out to a 3rd party. Likewise, she needs to consider if renting space off-site is more cost-effective in respect of the non-productive element for her and colleagues v the effectiveness of paying a premium for easily-accessible meeting space. Renting meeting space at a local hub may indeed prove better VFM overall, but she needs to factor in the real cost of non-productive time, not just the room rate...

And yes, I am an Estates Manager in the Public Sector and yes, it is about time people understood the real cost of running a business :)

It has everything to do with understanding organisations have different departments that do different things that have different targets that fit into the overall objectives of the organisation.

Yes - do let me know - you are from West Coast quite a distance but you could collect, have the celebratery stall on exiting Telfords and then call here for coffee and we can compare cars - would be good to photograph the twins !! I'm away late September but if you can catch me otherwise it would be interesting to meet a fellow Yeti-Cumbrian. :thumbup:
