Help! Scratches! :-(

Featured Replies

Driving home late last night down a country lane when a Range Rover coming the other way decided it didnt want to share the road and forced me into the hedges, which had a hidden wooden post, to avoid it. :swear:

Short of taking it to a body/repair shop what could i do to get rid/hide these scratches?? Thanks in advance!

I have had good results from "Chips Away" but like everything else they don't come cheap. The last scrape I had I took it to a body shop and offererd 'cash in hand'. Saved around eighty pounds.

smart repair that 80 to 100, only way you will hide that is if you put a blanket over it :giggle:

I have just recently had my full bonnet stripped back to bare metal primed and sprayed and had a crack in my bumper bodged and sprayed for £80 from chips away, absolutely fantastic job looks brand new, would defiantly recommend them.

Thanks for the replies!

I think I will give Chips Away a try. As uptight as I am with money, I just love my little Fabia too much and i hate seeing her in this state so I think she deserves to be spoilt once in a while :D

£80 for all that :o

Chips Away quoted me £120 to repair a chip the size of a 5p, and £60 to repair some light claw marks, so with VAT it all came to over £200.

Instead, I've bought some Skoda touch up paint for £8.65 (all instructions and packet labels in Czech ), 2 sheets of 2500 wet & dry paper for £2.50, some Sonas SFX-1 polish/restorer for £7.49, and a Sonus SFX Professional Applicator for £3.50 – a grand total of £22.14.

Just need to find the time and follow the self-repair guide here:
