Any Forge FMIC owners with boost gauges...

Featured Replies

Right, recently bought a Fabia with boost gauge and Forge FMIC. The gauge doesn't work, but I didn't notice it until after I'd got home and I'm not driving back up to Manchester for the sake of that, so I'll fix it myself. Question is, I can't work out where it's connected. There's an Allard EGR delete on there which obviously has the option of a take-off but mine just has the blank installed (see pic). Also, the pipework for the gauge seems to go down the side of the engine bay and then disappear into the bodywork (see pic).

All I want to know is, is there a pre-drilled takeoff point on the FMIC anywhere, or could this takeoff have been drilled almost anywhere on the pipework? I want to take the bumper off and have a look but just haven't had time and won't do for about another few weeks due to work and other things going off, I'm just wondering if I might be able to have a look through the bumper and at least see if the gauge pipe is still attached or not...

Thats weird, ive got a boost guage on mine with a forge cooler.

There is no were in the system for the boost guage to connect to unless they have made a custom outlet somewere but the best way to do it is to get the nipple (that should have came in the egr kit)and screw it into the egr take off point (as in pic 1) and reconnect the boost guage hose there and it will work fine or you can tap a nipple into the plastic pipe on the top next to the engine if you still have that pipe fitted?

indeed mines of the egr dont wanna be tapping into your forge pipework unless you have to

Yeah, I thought it was strange, but there isn't a nipple on the EGR, it just looks like a grub screw, so I'm assuming that's the blank fitted. So the only conclusion I can make given the path of the pipework is that it comes *somewhere* off the FMIC pipework. But I can't see where from the front or the top, so it is going to have to be a bumper off job to find where it's supposed to go, I reckon. I also don't have the nipple for the EGR as the seller didn't give it to me with the rest of the spare bits, I assume he doesn't have it anymore. Could probably buy one from Allards though.

If it was fitted on the FMIC before, then I'd rather re-fit it there because if it's been custom drilled it's not going to be easy to find something to blank it off with and I obviously don't want to leave a hole in my FMIC pipework causing a leak, if you see what I mean. So ideally I want to find where it was connected, and reconnect it but better so it doesn't break again...
