1.9 TDI engine and gearbox codes

Featured Replies

Hi!

How to find exactly which engine I have (BJB, BKC, BXE or BLS) and which 5speed gearbox ?

Don't know about the gearbox but I think the engine code is written in the sticker affixed to the inside cover of the service record book. If that's lost the same sticker is on the floor of the boot, next to the spare wheel, under the carpet.

HTH

Edit: Whilst you're at it, you can type in the option codes on the sticker to see what the car is equipped with here VAG option code translator

Yes, Thanks

Engine code BXE , but very strange gearbox code - JCR

never heard about JCR. As far as I remember gearbox codes on VW starts from 0 (02J as example)

02J is the beginning of the skoda part number, VAG gearbox codes are 3 digits long ie yours is JCR

OK, so that means I am looking for part number :)
