Got Her

Featured Replies

Well, picked her up this afternoon and gingerly drove home as being Friday 13th didn't want any mishaps! First impressions very very favourable, amazed at power and torque from that teeny little engine. Very comfortable and great road presence. Love the look of her and the very high quality of finish inside and out. Had a quick instruction through all the gadgets from the salesman but will need to take the manual to bed with me for a little gen up on what it's capable of. I was told that because I didn't specify bluetooth phone connection I didn't have it but I think all Elegance trim models do so I will explore that although I don't really need it! The only problem I have is I can't close my garage door, although it fits in fine the door hits the high rear end when attempting to close so it looks like I'm going to have to have a major revamp of garage so I can drive in a little further.

I decided to let the excitement die down a little and play it cool and instead of playing with it (The Yeti) tonight I would have a more leasurely look in morning.

Hope to take some pics soon

Andy

Glad to hear you have got her home and without incident :)

To much junk in our garage at the moment to even contemplate fitting the car in but when it is clear enough have to back the Monster in to close the door.

Regards,

TP

enjoy you new SM properly better not to play with her on Friday 13th. and you have a full day to play tomorrow.

picking mine up Wednesday to give them time to sort out who is to blame for the missing light assist option and sort a deal.

Bluetooth is part of the spec.

To set up use the maxidot phone/setup/search for phone and make sure your phone is set to visible. (then you can hide it again one it is paired) code is 1234

If your phone does A2DP then you will be able to stream to the headunit, but I suspect only control it from the phone.

I guess if you have a good enough signal you can also stream internet radio......

Mike

Congrats. Friday the 13th is a lucky day for my wife and I, so fear not. ;)

cant you reverse it into your garage, no high rear end to stop it then.

Hi NM,

The trouble is my garage is pretty narrow and at the bottom of a really steep drive, I would be able to shoehorn her in backwards but SWMBO would probably either rip the side out or knock the house down  The garage door which is the same age as the house (33years old) could do with replacing so I'm thinking of visiting the local door man and see if they do something like a roller shutter or similar that opens in a slightly different manner. In the meantime I'll just have to carefully half close it!

PS Going back to my earlier post regarding the salesman telling me it didn't have bluetooth I'm delighted to say my phone has linked perfectly,:) so there!

Went for a run round today and I love her but the pessamist in me has to add 'so far' just in case. I really must have more faith but you know how it is, once one always one!!

The only very very slight niggle me and er have is that 30mph isn't marked on speedo but that's not really a matter of life or death.

That can be sorted.....using VCDS (see separate thread on home page of forum) change the country to Australia and you can then get a big 30mph on the maxidot.

search alternately for "VCDS things I have done" by 900k. (or similar)

I was thinking along those lines and you've shoved me a little further in that direction, I don't imagine any solid up and over door is available with the needed angle to miss the rather high rear end!

PS Took her out in the dark last night for the first time and really really impressed with the 'looking round corners' lights

Just making my way through trial and error and last resort handbook to see what she's capable of.

Andy

you wont regret the rolling door, secure too, and car is just amazing, I was out in the dark last night also, in beautiful north Wales ;-))
