Octavia starting problems

Featured Replies

I have a Skoda Octavia Ambient 1.9 on a 53 plate and never had any problems.

Over the last 6 - 8 weeks I have intermittent problems starting the car.

The local garage has investigated and been unable to establish the problem. They did find a problem with the Coolant Temperatiure Sensor and replaced it.

Investigations indicated a problem with the ECU but no fsault could actually be found.

Any ideas??

Most garages will quickly point fingers at ecu's. If there was a fault with the ECU it would store a code or it would have a power supply problem which means the ECU dies before it stores a fault.

There are many faults common with this engine.

Check the egr valve then battery and startermotor crank sensors are prone to failure.

There are a few other random ones like antishudder valve not oPening correctly etc.
