46 - Central Conv. and 77 - Telephone

Featured Replies

I did an Autoscan, then cleared codes on some old stuff. When I looked in 17 (Instruments) for the Country setting as described elsewhere on this forum, I couldn't find it, or anything related to it. Anyway, I went for a short run, then did another Autoscan. This time I got "46 Central Convenience - Cannot be Reached." However, no fault code shows on the initial overview. Any ideas, please? I'm concerned I may have clicked on something I shouldn't have - but I can't think what, as I'm computer literate.

Also, regarding 77 - Telephone, says "Control Module Not Coded. U1013 00 [024]" Fair enough, I swapped it for the latest Bluetooth module a couple of months back and it simply worked.

Help appreciated - I'm new to VCDS, as you can see! :)

Hi Ray,

To change the country go to 17- Instruments and click on "Coding - 07"

17-Instruments.png

Then click on "Long Coding Helper"

17coding.jpg

Finally under Bit 4 select "70 Country: Australia (AUS)"

Longcoding-Australia.jpg

Return to previous screen where you will see that the long coding has changed, click on "Do it!" all will then be saved.

Newer cars do not actually use 46 - Central Convenience, which is why you are getting the "Cannot be Reached" message

Very helpful, thank you - much appreciated!

I'd like to solve the 77-Telephone coding too, if possible. Here's what the log says:

9457427 - Negative output audio channel for speech/telephone

B104F 13 [009] - Open Circuit.

9457939 - Telephone Baseplate

B1051 13 [024] - Open Circuit.

9458193 - Control Module for Cellular Telephone

B1052 14 [024] - Short to Ground

13636352 - Control Module Not Coded.

U1013 00 [024] - -

Looks like I've got a lotta learnin' to do! :)

Thanks very much for the screenshots, Gizmo68 - they were a great help!

Update:

At least the previous "short to ground" and "baseplate" faults have disappeared now, since I cleared them.

I went to '77 - Telephone' and then to '07 - Coding.' This is what appeared:

020000000000000000000000

The only option available in the helper was Bit 7, which gave alternate language options, but was already set to English.

Sorry to be such a numpty, but I don't want to mess anything up. :)

I have not personally changed anything to do with the phone, but this is a copy of my scan done on my (December 2010) Elegance:

Address 77: Telephone (J412) Labels: 3C8-035-730-A.clb

Part No SW: 3C8 035 730 A HW: 3C8 035 730 A

Component: Telefon 007 0078

Revision: -------- Serial number: 35909603054***

Coding: 020100000100010000000000

ASAM Dataset: EV_UHVPremi A01005

ROD: EV_UHVPremi_SK46.rod

VCID: 21425073814F

No fault code found.

Many thanks - I'll see if that improves things. :)

OK, Gizmo68, your long coding 020100000100000000000000 sorted out my "Not Coded" fault.

I'm left with:

9457427 - Negative output audio channel for speech/telephone

B104F 13 [009] - Open Circuit

Freeze Frame:

Fault Status: 00000001

Fault Priority: 4

Fault Frequency: 11

Reset counter: 66

Mileage: 23096 km

Date: 2023.14.23

9458193 - Control Module for Cellular Telephone

B1052 14 [024] - Short to Ground

Freeze Frame:

Fault Status: 00000001

Fault Priority: 4

Fault Frequency: 1

Reset counter: 54

Mileage: 23096 km

Date: 2023.14.23

I'll check the mounting and wiring connections next. It would help if anyone else who's changed their Bluetooth module and has VCDS could check to see if they've got the same faults in module 77.

Thanks for your help so far! :)

UPDATE:

This matter is now fully resolved by enabling the Multimedia Function Inactive bit (module/vehicle wiring doesn't match, as mentioned in other posts about running another wire). I don't use media streaming, so I'm happy to have a completely fault free AutoScan! :)

Achieved using 020100000100010100000000 :)
