What do I need?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I've had a search, but cant seem to find anything - so sorry if these questions have been covered before!

I have a 56 plate fabia vRS & am looking at getting some diagnostic software, but I have no idea what bits I need!

Do I need a Hex-Can lead, or OBD2? & where would be the best place to buy from, have looked on the ross tech website & seen this:

http://store.ross-tech.com/shop/VCHUC.html

would that be all I need?

Thanks in advance!

Andy

Click on the distributor list for a full list of suppliers - Gendan get good reviews on here.

Ta gizmo!

So I just need to buy that lead & download the software from ross tech, and I'm good to go?

Yes exactly!

A word of caution, ALWAYS do a scan and save it before you change anything, it is also IMO worth writing down any codes you are about to change before you change them, VCDS can be quite powerful and scary .... in the wrong hands,

take your time, research what you want to do before doing it and it will be one of the best 'tools' you will ever buy

I bought mine from here Gendan,

I'm not affiliated with this company, They were the most reasonable when I wanted my cable!
