Adjustable Yeti Elegance Headlights?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I am after any help I can get. I am about to buy a UK Spec Yeti Elegance 4 x 4 DSG with Bi-Xenon Headlights. I will be living in Germany and require these headlights to perform as a LHD european model would, i.e point towards the opposite kerb. Is it possible for this to be done or is the adjustability limited to 'flattening' the beam? If not I must dip in my pocket for another £700! gulp!

Many thanks in anticipation,

Great Forum BTW

I think you just select 'Tourist' in the maxi dot and it switches it over?

I know there is some function like that, but I need it to rotate to the opposite side and not just flatten, any idea of what function it performs?

According to the parts 'book' the LHD bi-xenon headlight units have a different P/N to the RHD;

5L1 941 017 C - left LHD

5L1 941 018 C - right LHD

5L2 941 017 C - left RHD

5L2 941 018 C - right RHD

Hope this is of help,

TP

Yes sorry to be the bearer of bad news but all this does is flatten the beam - fine for short periods but not good enough for the MOD test.

Gutted expected them to be cheaper over here in Germany as was quoted £700 fitted by Griffin with UK's in back, only to find the cheapest quote to be 680 euros for the pair parts only! Just wanted to make sure they were absolutely neccessary. Oh well c'est le vie! Any German dealers near Kaiserslautern that may be cheaper????

Thanks guys, Im off for a beer. I need it.

Yes, it just flattens the left hand part of the beam that shines "up" at the moment illuminating the hedges. So you have a very much reduced spread of light AND none of the cornering functions work. You could keep them as is and just fit old fashioned reflectors on the light glass - so the cornering function still works but to be honest I find the cornering fogs useful and hardly ever notice the cornering Xenons (in normal town driving anyway). And you will still have a flattened light spread.

Somewhere on this forum someone also mentioned that the Tourist mode is an automatic fail in the German MOT test as it does not comply. It is fine for tourists of course, but not for general day in and day out use.
