dipping n/s door mirror

Elsie the Helipad is having some stuff done to her at the moment and one of them is the n/s door mirror.

If it has been left in 'L' on the door switch so that I can see the kerb when reversing, when I stop reversing, the mirror goes back to its normal position.

So far that is normal. What isn't normal is that it judders on its way back up. Allams have said that there is a problem with it and will replace under warranty, but the part is on back order from the factory, so will have to wait for a new mirror to arrive before it is fixed.
