London-Yorkshire-Edinburgh-Aviemore-Inverness and back

Featured Replies

We did this trip between the two bank holiday weekends last month - having had the forethought about three months ago to take the three days off between the two weekends! And what amazing weather. Sunny every single day even in Scotland!

I stated the fuel consumption figures elsewhere in the relevant thread so here just some gratuitous Monster photos!

This is somewhere during the trip - loaded up to just above the window line. Sunroof's shade closed as the sun was starting to give me a headache. Someone asked if it is solid, so there is your answer!

How did you get on in Aviemore ?

N Yorkshire -Invergarry- Ullapool - Durness- Ft William - Glasgow - N yorkshire last week in Caterham. It rained ..hmm..probably 900 of the 1200 miles covered. But the drive from Torridon via Gareloch to Rhiconich made it all worth while- gorgeous sun and the best driving roads in UK. Yeti will gets its Highland debut later in the year- and will have a touring range of more than 150 miles I hope...

My best ever driving experience was last year in a hired Caterham. We hired them form Perth and drove over 200 miles of absolutely perfect roads with stunning views and hardly any other cars. It really was driving in it's rawest but purest form and all six of us didn't stop grinning from the moment we picked them up until we dropped them back off at the end of the day. Here are some pics from the day...Caterhams

Apologies for distracting the thread away from your original post Johann...your pics are excellent! The next time you come up North we should try and arrange for a few of us to meet up.

Just done a circuit Ilkley to Edinburgh, Edinburgh to Portpatrick, Portpatrick to Ilkley via the Solway Coast over the weekend. Must say that I thoroughly enjoyed the driving experience the Yeti takes some beating. Only saw two other SM's both Grey coloured near Carlisle.

Aviemore was lovely! We stayed here:

And had the most amazing pitch! And the bathrooms! A whole bathroom to yourself with toilet, shower and basin. Amazing.

Look at these 360 degree pictures taken on my iPhone:

It was too early for the biting critters to be out! I've refused for years to go camping in Scotland for this very reason. And you won't get me anywhere near a Scottish campsite between May and September. Pity.

Roads, scenery, people... all lovely yes! Really loved it.
