Featured Replies

just bought a mk1 vrs and just wondering a few things

1) is there holes behind the badges as wanna remove them

2) the traction control light is permanently lit ??? any ideas/common fault

3) i keep gettin this kind of hesitation when driving steady like i am putting the gas on and off a little?? any ideas/common fault

4) the car is meant to be remapped and running 235 brake is this likely???

5) any other common faults i should look out for whilst i am giving it a good clean tomoz

cheers steve

1) Can't remember off-hand, but the rear one is set in a recess anyway.

2) I'd suspect an ABS sensor, even if the ABS light isn't also lit. VCDS should be able to confirm/deny this.

3) It sounds a bit like a fuelling issue.

4) That's more than you'd get from just a map on the 1.8T; if you have an Octy 2, don't blame me for you not supplying relevant info!

Will see a max of 215bhp unless it has had the turbo changed to a ko4 plus fmic, remap is what it will have had, chip is the same thing.

Agreed, with the note that 210brake is more likely than 215. Either way, without further work, 235 is male bovine faeces.
