Rear screen rattle / high vis brakelight

Featured Replies

I've had an annoying low pitch rattle from the rear of the car for several weeks, most noticeable on any road surface that wasn't smooth tarmac. Found out today that it's something related to the high visibility brake light at the top of the rear (hatch) screen.

This is part of the overall rear screen plastic trim. Has anyone any experience of taking this trim off. Or is it best left to a dealar.

Thanks.

If your car is going to the dealer anyway, or it's nearby, leave it to them.

I took mine off-it just needs a right old yank to unclip it. I started at the top.

I've had this on mine. Seems to be the plastic trim that touches the brake light housing. I cut up an old bike inner tube and slid it inbetween the gap. Certaily solved it for me anyway and didn't need to remove any of the trim.

Now to stop the roof grab handles rattling :|
