Quite odd given there are no Skodas in the US/Canada. I wonder if it was developed for their mk4 Golf "Rabbit" and they found it was compatible?

Cars are already very cheap in the US and I do not think the would understand the Skoda brand in the US.

VW have just started up a Passat factory in Tennesse and the Mexican operation is growing. I did think that SEAT might moved lock, stock and barrel to Mexico.

Skoda massive in India and Far East and that is where it is at.
