Can remote operating of windows be enabled for my Fabia Summer 2004?

Featured Replies

Good evening, gentlemen! (British forum, right? :) )

My Fabia has electrical windows in the front, and a remote key that looks similar to this, with two buttons (open and close):

I can open and close the windows by inserting it into the lock and holding to right/left. However, holding in one of the remote buttons does not work.

Is it possible to enable this feature? Do I need an expensive VAG-COM adapter or similar?

does this work on the se?

Nope, can't be done on any fabia's :(

Matt

I have seen a thread on here about changing the values via Vag com.

My Polo has a glitch in it where is sometimes works from the fob if I start it with the key-lock method, and then repeatedly tap the lock or unlock button! Only issue is the alarm beeps, so for every unlock/open it beeps twice, and seeings as it moves ~1cm at a time it's a pretty long, loud and pointless exercise!

Third party controller would be required!

I'm pretty sure that i've read in the past that all you need is a kvw100 window control module which you just plug in to your odb port and it uploads the relevant codes?

[EDIT]

Not true.

I used the KVW100 on my 2nd Fabia, as sold by Awesome. Does come with some caveats though, as it makes a permanent change to a controller - one that can't be coded via VCDS. Not really a great way of adding functionality really, as making those sorts of controller changes has the habit of creating other issues. It also depends on your version of convenience your car has. You would have to contact the manufacturers direct for that info, as I can't remember the details. But it had the effect on mine of controlling the sunroof on lock/unlock, but not the windows!

If you want to do it properly, and have control over more related stuff - fit an Alientech module. Can be fitted inside the driver's door. I just never got round to buying one for the Fabia: http://www.alientech.net/

Cheers,

Steve

I knew it was possible with the addition of other items, but didnt think it was possible with what was already on the car IE enable it via vag com.

it has to be done via a kvw100 or vagcom (dos) version via serial cable

So I can do it via vagcom?!

It's simililar theme. For Skoda came to me problem.I have option, ie. I had until this week to lower both front door windows when you hold the key in the lock on the right side. From yesterday do not have the option. Now just unlocked the driver's door like I have not central locking.Windows doesn't react. Now I can also lock the entire car by turning the key in the lock.Light for the remote, the alarm is active, the rest is OK.Is it something with a lock on drivers door or a fuse roared or microswitch?I have key with 3 buttons lock, unlock the trunk door, unlock.

Car is Fabia Combi Elegance 2004 with 2 front electrical windows.

Sounds like the switch in the lock is broken to me.

Also a note on the remote windows on the Fabia while I'm here:

Has to be done via VDS Pro and serial cable.

I have successfully enabled on 2x Ibizas, my old Cordoba and a MK1 Octavia vRS.

I once tried on a Fabia vRS MK1 and although the CCM was the same as in the Ibizas and Cordoba it was coded differently so couldn't find the right coding to change.

If anyone is able to find which addresses to change and what to change them to on a Fabia then I have the software, the cable and an old laptop with a serial port on to do it.

Phil

Tnx a lot,Phil!
