advice?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I currently own a good old felicia, 1.9 diesel, but i think it's on it's last legs so i'm hoping someone can give me some advice- i'm considering buying a fabia VRS 2004, 71,000, MOT & TAX Nov'11. what are the things i should look for/ask the seller? it's £1,800 (so i'm wondering too why so cheap?). I know very little about cars but only want a skoda  an old habit that won't die!

looking forward to some help from you seasoned skoda people

many thanks

hi there.make sure it has service history and enquire if the timing belt has been changed, pretty sure they should get done at 60,000 miles or 4 years old.

Hello & welcomeemoticon-0148-yes.gif

£1800 is seriously too cheap for a car that age!

If you're going for it get it HPI'd and inspected, Better to spend a couple hundred pounds to determine whether it's a right one or a shed!

It could save you £1000's in the long run!

have you got a link to the car so we can all have a look thats very very cheap so there must be a reason!

Hi and welcome aboard.

thankyou everyone, it was a big scam using ebay & gumtree! so watch out fellow potential buyers, it was too good to be true after all :wonder:

I'm now looking at a fabia 1.4 classic, 2000, £1,700... has a tap/ticking sound on the right hand side (passenger) in the vicinity of the battery after it's warmed up (with bonnet up)... some say it mught be the carbon/charcoal cannister... what is this for & why would it make this noise? can you help?! :)

many thanks
