Mirror fault

Featured Replies

I've done about 6 thousand miles in mine now and I'm very pleased with it. Fuel consumption is averaging out at around 38mpg and performance is fine for a family estate. 1 small fault has developed over the last few hundred miles, I wonder if anyone else has experienced similar or knows of a fix? The autodip function for the n/s door mirror (when reverse is engaged)started working erratically a few hundred miles ago and now doesn't work at all. Odd since the electric adjustment works as it should so I know the motor is okay. Anyone got any ideas? If not, it will wait until the car gets serviced, I'm not going into the dealers for just that.

Thanks,

Mark.

On refection it's a dealer visit. Boom Boom.

Phil

It has played up on mine, like going up instead of down etc. I just don't bother using it any more.

Looks like it's going to wait for the service then. Thanks.

Just wondering guys but was this not one of thise faults where doing somethign daft like opening all the windows fully & then closing then again somehow trips a reset & all is ok again.

Mark, I've not had the problem but you might find a thread on here as you are not the first. Might be worth giving it a go anyway.

Thanks Stephan, I did a quick search before posting, a few mirror issues are mentioned but nothing exactly the same as mine or anything about a reset (which I could find anyway)no big deal really, it still adjusts via the mirror joystick, it's just one of the little luxury features you get used to with the Superb and then miss when it doesn't work.

Hi I had a similar problem as yours, discovered that mirror worked fine with my key but the Wife's key gave same problem as yours ! Apparently key needs to be programmed individually when setting up preferences. Are you using the same key now as you did when all was well ?

I am using the same key yes. I've only used one since the car arrived but, now you've mentioned that, I will try the spare. Thanks for the suggestion.

Had exactly the same thing happen on my Octavia, select reverse and the mirror would move in but when it tried to move down it would just wiggle a bit and then stop. It works fine on the joystick on the door. Had dealer look at it during service and they couldn't find anything wrong.

My Yeti mirror dips fine and goes back fine.

But.....it is jerky on its return, so they will be replacing my mirror, but as it's on back order........

I took delivery of my Superb Greenline II (in Elegance trim) a couple of weeks ago. I was aware of this mirror dipping feature and interested to see it in action, but alas no joy. My mirrors seem blissfully unaware of my direction of travel.... I went into the Maxidot settings, and found the "mirror down" option and it was indeed checked. Tried it unchecked, then checked again, and no difference. What am I missing?

It needs the mirror switch set to the "L" position to function.

I have the same fault, but the manual says "R" position.

I assumed this was for RHD cars.

Must try it on the "L"

If only the manual had said "nearside" or "passenger side" (which is what is meant), that would have clarified the situation permanently.

In its country of origin, the passenger side is the RHS and the manual's translation often falls down in this respect. :)

Thank you

--problem solved,--- manual was wrong.
