Bloke caught using two phones while driving

Featured Replies

Taken from a press release from the Norfolk Constabulary:

Police in Norfolk stopped a motorist using not one but two mobile phones during a two-week Mobile Phone clampdown.

Shocked road policing officers spotted the driver holding one phone to his ear talking while using another to text. The driver had his vehicle seized for no insurance and is likely to face a court appearance as a result of both offences.

More details can be found from the Daily Fail. The guy was caught on the dual carriageway stretch of the A47 near Norwich driving using only his knees to steer.

How idiotic can you get? I've driven this stretch a number of times (parents live in Blofield Heath) and you need to keep your wits about your - there are a couple of at-grade junctions, farm tracks, busy roundabouts and the local loons to contend with. Unsurprisingly it is also a favourite area for the local plod to set speed and enforcement traps.

Hopefully he will get a driving ban , more than likely between 6-12months, which will not be long enough emoticon-0183-swear.gif

Can he get 2 fines for using 2 phones?

He should get 2 fines, one for using a hand held phone and a second for texting. 3 points & £60 for each offence plus 6 points & £200 for no insurance, that's 12 points & £320 so hopefully a big ban.

Should be able to get him for not being in control of the vehicle as well - he was attempting to drive with his knees!
