2005 Fabia VRS Front Foglight bulb change

Front bumper changes during 2005 from 2004, meaning different fitting foglights so not interchangeable, although they look the same outwardly.

Want to remove front foglight covers that sit in-front on front bumper.

They can be moved about and are a sloppy fit, but afraid to force anything in case I break/ snap something.

The front offside should be fairly easy to remove (but isn't) as in the case of a breakdown, the cover can be removed to screw a tow-bolt into place.

I have read the bumper needs to come off,?? but this seems unnecessary/ drastic as these grills are not part & parcel of bumper but separate entities on their own.
