HELP WANTED - Windscreen Scuttle Seal

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone

HELP REQUIRED

Does anyone know where they can get the SEAL that attaches to the plastic scuttle tray and then seals against the bottom of the windscreen on MK1 Octavia's? (NOTE: this is not a windscreen body seal, it's only used as cosmetic)

I've tried our local Main Dealer but they say is it ONLY comes with the Plastic Scuttle Tray, so you cannot buy it just on it's own.

Mine is cracked along it's length, even missing in a few areas and looks untidy now. It runs the complete length of the base of the windscreen, looks like it's in two halves as the plastic is in two halves. Sizes Approx. 76cm each in length, 11 or 12mm wide, thickness is 1-1/2mm at the base going up to a fine taper where it touches the windscreen.

Does anyone know where to find this type of seal if we cannot buy it from Skoda cheaply?

Your help and comments would be appreciated.

Cheers Pete.

If not on here then your best bet would be the scrappy m8

It's actually part of the scuttle panel and cannot be removed/replaced. There is no way of using a generic sealing strip because of the way the panels attach to the car.

The panels are about £17 each

Cheers Guys

Thought I would ask, as someone may have come across the problem before.

Thanks for the ebay ad, I spotted them this evening.

Need to check whether they are the same across all MK1's, bit dark at the moment.

Seems a shame they cannot be removed and replaced as mine are starting to fall off as and when they feel like it.
