connecting Iphone 3Gs

Featured Replies

Help !!! just picked up my new car.......superb elegance and have tried to connect my iphone. it recognised the phone and then says it's not compatible. really not sure what to set my phone to ? oh by the way Yes i do have Bluetooth switched on but do I need to change any settings

Many thanks for your help

Wether or not your car can pair with an iPhone depends upon the Bluetooth module fitted. Your car is probably too early to have the latest module, so it will not pair with an iPhone, or practically any other android mobile, as it only uses RSAP (remote SIM access protocol) and not the Bluetooth Hands-Free Protocol required.

This is easily overcome by fitting a replacement Bluetooth module (under the drivers' seat) and this has been done successfully by many members. See here for full details. HTH :)

unless your car is a brand new chances are its not going to work with any iPhone at all. Before around october last year Skoda fitted a bluetooth module which although technically better than the current one is incompatible with the iphone.

OK I'm being thick - Collected the Supberb today ( ) paired the iphone having worked out that the car wanted all 16 digits of the code. Phone works perfectly however I can't get the music to play through it.

No MDI connection in the car however I thought it would have played via bluetooth >??

Suggestions ??

Try starting the player on the mobile first.

I'm not as thick as I look (couldn't be !! although occasionally the wife argues that point) - Tick the box that enables aux input and with the phone paired a new symbol appears on the iphone and the bluetooth symbol appears on the media display !!

Result - very loud music

A dummy question - does this Bluetooth pairing only work on the Elegance?

I have an SE and an iPhone and am wondering if I'm missing out on something useful.

Or not.

I have 2011 Octavia Scout disel, a great working car. My old Nokia phone connected brillaintly to the incar phone system, text messages came up on the screen etc. BUT the I-phone 3gs does connect, but the Voice mailbox wont dial up though other calls can be made, and the text messages don't come through. May be a set up issue, anybody any experiences or ideas please ? thanks

For text messages to be displayed the phone needs to support RSAP, which iPhone's don't

The audio streaming doesn't work automatically, you need to switch it on first, confusingly I found it in the MFD not in the radio, pair the phone, use the stering wheel controls to switch to phone in the dash display and root around in the menus, it's there somewhere I just cant remember where at the moment. And yes you can stream music with bluetooth and bolero in an SE, the only downside I can see is that you have to control the music from the phone not the head unit. Get an SD card I just ordered a 16GB one from play.com for about £9 its much more useable than bluetooth streaming.

*Edit*

Oh hell, I just realised the questions above were from about 6 months ago, I will leave the answer up anyway in case it helps someone with an iphone.
