Remap Question

Featured Replies

According to my local dealers today if I go down the remap route and skoda bring out an update of software then when the car goes in it will clear the remap off ???????????

Surely a 5 year old car isnt going to have a software update now is it seein as there are newer models out in its place ?

I would think your probably right. To be on the safe side, if the car goes in just let them know that you don't want them to update your ecu. A big sticker over the OBD port with "NO" written on it should also work too.

Sometimes (not very often though) if you get the car serviced at the stealers they will flash the ECU to update it, thus wiping any remap, however that is the beauty of a Shark STS or similar, as you can switch back to standard for and service then reinstall the map after. Alternatively the majority of tuners will re-remap for a minimal charge if the worst should happen, my tuner charges 25 quid!

Mine's a 2007MY on a 56 plate.

My tuners will if I take the car to them, or 25 quid to come to my house.
