Ratling fan when AC is on

Featured Replies

I noticed it when I start to use AC these days.

Sound like debalanced fan or something, but rattle come only when AC is on.

AC is Climatronic, and rattle is not noticable bellow fan speed 3.

Do I have to go to service shop?

I tried that, but rattling remains.

Seems odd there is no rattle when AC is off..

Maybe it's the gerbil..... :giggle:

Not excluded, I have been on country for last 10 days :)

Thank you for the CD tip - I've been plagued with a rattling dash at idle speed for a few weeks - hardly noticeable but it ruined perfection. CD out - no rattle - thanks again.

Update - rattle is back - even without the CD in. Seems to happen at idle when the engine is warm - its about 620rpm which is perhaps too low and sets up a harmonic vibration - sounds like a cable against the underside of the dash with I guess is inaccesible. Does anyone know if the idle speed can be adjusted and what the acceptable idle speed is? I think if it could be raised to 700 - 750 the rattle wouldn't happen.

Rattling is no more :)

They clean the fan housing for free in Skoda service.

Must be something in the fan housing, I didnt ask what but they did it very quick.

Could be the compressor, I'd get it checked out by a Skoda workshop. How old is your Yeti?
