Anyone know how to lubricate the fuel flap locking mechanism?

SWMBO just phoned from a garage forecourt (on phone inside car) saying the flap would only open partially and not fully.

Told her to recyle the door lock/unlock a few times using the key fob and try again.

It released the flap; but she says whenever she locks the car there is a grinding noise coming from the fuel flap locking mechanism.

Is it something I can resolve myself or is a trip to the 'stealer' required?
