Hot/cold cabin air issue

Featured Replies

If i have the heater dial on blue( turned all the way to the left ) it blows cold, if i turn it ONE click to the right or up ONE "notch" it blows HOT. Surely one click wouldnt make it hot would it? WHats the issue here?

Probably flap motor for heater faulty, might just need reset with VAGCOM.

Tried that and you can hear it moving etc but makes no difference. Guess I'll get a new flap motor then! Thanks

Have you left it to settle? The system is semi-automatic. Blue as you call it is as cold as possible. The first click is semi-automatic and if it detects the cabin air much colder than the minimum setting (16C if I recall correctly) then it will blow hot air until the temperature rises to roughly 16C. If you constantly mess with it, it doesn't like it. Set it to something and leave it. That's how it's supposed to work.

It may also be worth blowing out the temperature sensors as these get filled with dust. There is one by the roof lights and one or two in the dashboard by the controls.

The vent by the roof light is a space for a mic, nothing to do with the climatic. Climatic only has one sensor in the control panel.
