3 bar map sensor upgrade and flat spots?

Featured Replies

is it worth me getting a 3 bar map sensor for my octy mk1 vrs? if so do u have part numbers etc please. thanks.

also when accelerating hard the power comes and goes all through the rev range. ive cleaned the throttle body and reset the throttle using a snap on solus pro. any ideas??

have you done a scan for fault codes? Could be anything, faulty MAF, boost leak, N75 etc etc. First place to start is to get it scanned for codes

No fault codes on it at all which is leaving kinda stumped. I was think about doing the n249 bypass. The has had a new maf unit and also has an n75h valve fitted. All new parts fitted as a just in case measure before my warranty runs out in july.

is it mapped or standard? N249 bypass might be a good idea as that can electronically cut boost.

If its mapped then talk to the company who mapped it.

There is no point fitting a 3 bar map sensor to your car - it should have a 2.5bar map sensor as standard, which should be more than enough for your engine.

2.5bar map sensor sees 1bar at idle, so the 1.5bar extra is for positive boost upto 21psi.

Also, if you did fit a 3 bar map sensor, you would need to have this calibrated to your map.

The only non standard parts are a dv30, n75h valve and 3" intake mod. Hasn't been remapped at all. It seems better but still not 100% when you turn the traction control off. Some days it flys and other days its like the turbo is only half working.

Try taking it for a run with the maf sensor unplugged, see if it behaves the same or any better.

is the N75h the standard valve or a "race" one? The standard one is the best option for these cars the "race" one is poop.

Yeah its called the race valve. Tbh I fitted it last year and I've never noticed much difference so I left it on. I still have the original valve so maybe I'll refit that for the drive home.

N75's need to be left alone....

Ignore the bu!!**** remarks about them being 'race' spec. Stick with the proper one. It used to be the 'F' version, that's now been replaced with the 'E' version.

My old n75 has part number 058906283F stamped on it. I take it this is the F version you refer to? I'm going to get the turbo to pancake pipe under warranty also as I'm not happy with the fit of it.

I'd suspect the DV30. If you still have the standard DV try sticking that on, & see if there's any difference.
