Rims

Featured Replies

are the rims that fit on the fabia the same ones that fit on BMWs?

Nope. Fabia is PCD5x100 - BMW I'm 99.9% sure is a different stud pattern. The 5 x100 pattern is only shared within the VW/Audi group cars. :)

ok, bare with me here a little bit, im good with computers, but when it comes to cars im not all that good (im a mess actually) ... what does the PCD5x100 stand for?! im guessing that 5 is the number of screws? what is the rest?!

oh and one more thing, can the regular Fabia take 16" rims?!

PCD or to give its full name Pitch Circle Diameter.

If you were to draw a circle going through the centre line of all the studs then its diamter would be 100mm. i.e its an indication how far the studs are spaced out.

But what also can be different is the centre bore, this is the hole where the wheel sits on the hub. So you can have a set of 5 x 100 rims but it doesnt mean they wil fit on an Ocativa for example. If the centre bore it to big then you can get spacers to fil up the gap. But if its to small the wheel needs to be machined (like if you try and fit Subaru rims on a VAG car).

And on the Rover 75, and some Toyotas...

Rob.

Like I said there are quite a few cars (Subaru for example) that use the 5 x 100 PCD but the offset and centre bore changes.

Edited.

I have a 5 stud an 04 plate BMW 320d standard alloy wheel at work will try it on my fab vrs next week & let you know (will obviously not able to say whether offset is correct but whether fits & rubs etc)

All I can say here is that the Fabia can also take 17" rims. :)
