Beading

Featured Replies

A couple of beading shots as it chucked it down as I'd just finished sticking some Colly down on the paint. Did get a chance to use some Z6 as well.

Anyway, enjoy, comments welcome.

Nice pics, but i still don't see the fascination with beading lol

Has to be said there is something rewarding when rain visits your recently waxed motor :D

Still learning how to get the best out of my camera but never manage to capture detail like that on your last photo? Expect you set it manually to achieve results like that.

My camera is just a Sony point n shoot DSC-W350 all on auto settings.

Its not just the camera or the photographer its also the post processing. Photoshop can help process photo's but even something like picassa can help as well. Increasing shadows and the amount of fill light etc.

Here is some useful info on it: http://photo.net/learn/digital-post-processing/

Tell me about it!!

I just bought and applied some Autoglym HD to my car and I was waiting for the rain to come to see how well it would bead. :rain:

(note to myself....'I must get a life')

the beads aren't the same size and not equally spaced. I've done Meg's 3 step and only two layers of Meg's carnuba wax.

The beading indicates that the LSP coverage is not even. If it was even all the beads would be evenly spaced and the same size. It's a criticism.

Okay, but rain doesn't fall in a uniform way or speed, some parts of the car are flatter than others and the water looks to pool, hence bigger beads and smaller beads.

Top centre of the roof the beads fanned out towards the edges, on the bonnet they all ran towards the front.

If I had misted the car with the pressure washer then the beads would of been consistent.

Or is that allllll wrong?

Looks good Paul, I do love these beading discussion threads...........

I fail to see how i have applied or buffed the LSP unevenly. The beads i have are tall and uniform, albeit different sizes.

and what does the megs 3 step and just the two layers of megs look like when beaded up?

Shock an ore! Beading is the most rewarding part about having a clean car. Shows how slippery smooth it is and it just so satisfying on a rainy day seeing the bead on the car or driving to work and the car has dried its self off.

Very effective indeed.

Cheers for the informative link!

ps. Im sure the LSP bead police arent going to come out and check each half globule for exact uniformity and so wouldnt concern myself about it. :D A bead is a bead is a bead ..play on! ;)
