VRS Engine Cover Rattle and Fix

Featured Replies

Sorry no pics of this little mod, as it's raining cats and dogs at the moment. :D

The VRS engine cover, tends to rattle at various engine loads, and Skoda only fitted a little piece of felt to the bottom of the cover, where it sits above the top plastic boost pipe that runs from the inter-cooler to the EGR valve. The OEM plastic boost pipe has a little flat section in the area concerned.

All you need to do, is get some double sided sticky tape, and a piece of high density foam (the black stuff used to protect hard drives is good.)

Foam wants to be about 1.5 inches wide, 3 inches long, and 1 inch deep.

Put some double sided sticky tape over the flattened area of the boost pipe.

Stick foam onto sticky tape.

Refit engine cover and notice it no longer wobbles over the boost pipe.

Job done.

If your cover has been rattling, you will be amazed just how much of a difference this little mod makes.
