Alarm siren

Featured Replies

Hey there, just brought myself a nice fabia vrs 2005 57000 miles, but my alarm siren is faulty, I've got a new one but just need to know it's location, I've already checked under both front wheel arches and the plenum cover but no luck does anyone know where it's fitted??????? Thanks Paul

Hi and welcome aboard.

welcome to briskoda

Under the exhaust, behind the exhaust shield, kind of around/in front of the rear beam area. They deliberately tucked it well away as a security thing. You'll need the car on a ramp, drop a section of the exhaust and the heatshield.

PS: Moved to Fabia 1 forum as not really a true "introductions" thread.

Near but not quite!!!

Pasenger side between the fuel tank and the rear beam...tucked up under the seat platform.......you do not need to remove any heat sheilds, exhausts etc!!!!! Just get car on a jack (back up with axle stand.....then get a thin flat blade screw-driver to help undo the one electric cable connector....undo the bolt that holds the alarm to the bracket. The horn has internal rechargeable batteries which "go" and the horn needs replacing every 6years!!!

If you don't want to fit the horn.....who notices them these days???...then using waterproof duck tape, cover the end of the connector very well....I also used heatshrink tubing and using a wet cloth I molded it flat to pinch the open end...then cable tie this end to the bracket.......car alarm works perfectly but silent(well for 8years now) and if you delve into the conveniance ecu (alarm) it does show the fault code for (unable to comm with horn)..... but no dash lights!!! B)
