Just checking rear car door opened fault ?

Featured Replies

Ok sounds an obvious fault but it was rear door opening but only to the point that it was ajar. I mean did not fly open and I could not still actually open the door as the shild lock was on. In fact wondering if it had something to do with me putting on the child lock just the day before. Sounds nothing but made me jump. Door only then appeared on the multi dot display as open.

First time I have ever posted a message without a single reply.

I therefore assume its GOOD NEWS and proabably a complete one off and not a fualt spotted elsewhere that is likely to be repeated.

On the upside my wife has insisted that the car seat for my 6 year old daughter now come to the front and the wife sits in the back - the car is much quietr !!!

I don't quite understand what you are trying to say, but it sounds like the door had only caught on the first part of the catch rather than on both parts (can happen on all cars).

There must be some logic to your actions but I fail to see it ..... because the door had not been closed fully (but was still secure with the child lock) you have decided to move the child to the front of the car where there is no child lock?? :wonder:

Sorry Gizmo68 you dont know my wife - why does there have to be any logic involved with my wife deciding to move my daughter  It was just that the door was at one point close well enough for the maxi dot to go out and hence showing door shut. Drive 25 miles on motorway and al of sudden door goes ajar -rush of air into cabin - scres the **** out of us. Door still locked well enough that can only be opened from outside.

First and only time it has happened to me and happened day after putting on child locks
