Turbo problems

Featured Replies

Hello guys

Im not very good with the runnings of a motor. Recently bought a 52 plate mk1 octavia 20v 1.8 4x4 turbo. Was fine at first but now when I'm pulling away in 1st I get an intermittent dip from the turbo and it happens in second too. All other gears are ok. Gently press the throttle I hear and feel the turbo but then it's like it cuts out and stops working. I lift off throttle then reapply and it's working again. And like I said it's intermittent. Any ideas ? Ive since bought a VAG COM cable and it shows no faults at all. A friend mentioned that the turbo sound is too loud and that i may have an air leak connecting to the turbo and someone else mention that it could be an overflow flap/gate sticking. If you could give me a few pointers as to fix it if i can b4 i take it to a £££garage :)

Thanks in advance

Mikey

welcome to briskode :)

it sounds like it could be a leak in a boost pipe somewhere...
