Can anybody please explain how to turn of the back wiper ITS DOING MY HEAD IN

When ever its raining and I reverse my car then the back wiper just stays on intermitting and its really pi****g me off now,its even done it when i have turned my front wipers off

its a vrs estate with the DSG box ona 60 plate

I think its just a "feature" when you have the rain sensor - mine does the same. Can't see the issue really, its raining, you want to drive backwards and it wipes the window for you..

suppose the only issue could be if you have one of those bike carriers that mounts on the tailgate

i didnt have the rain sensors fitted as i had a similar problem with a bmw estate the wipers and lights coming on

dont mind the rear wiper working when i put it in reverse but its still working when i have switched the fronts off and its not raining,looked in manual and nothing pops out....

maybe a trip to the dealers.....also while ime having a whine,,,,,as any body else got any slight milking round the front windscreen

I know this was a fault on my 57 octavia but it looks like this one has it as well

So.... not trying to be a smart arse, but have you pulled the stalk towards you so that the rear wiper is not switched on?

If so then it's definitely a fault as it's not supposed to do that!

yes ive pulled stalk back towards me .........so a trip to the dealers and to show them the windscreen

I believe this is a 'feature'. I ended up disabling it through VCDS in the end.

I just took mine off completely.

Rear wipers just really annoy me.
