Hi guys I thought I do a little write up on the past 7 days as the vRS has had lots added to it, It was due a cam belt change I thought that while I am doing that I would treat the old girl to some new toys so the shopping list was

Fast Road Clutch

Dual Mass Flywheel

Poly Bushes

Cam Belt

Water Pump

Aux Belt

Oil

Coolant Change

5.1 brake fluid

Rear Pads

Rear Upper Strut Brace

Hell braded hoses

Dog Bone Mount

Drop Links

Ball Joints

Gear box oil

Oil Filter

Fuel Filter

and a new magic tree

And what an epic task it was just doing the cam belt and clutch the engine has to be tilted to do both in different directions looking back it would have been easyer to just drop the engine out it would have probably saved allot of time.

I still have some bits to do as we ran out of time but the difference is already impressive both in the handling and the clutch feel.

Im getting it to how i want it bit by bit.

spent about £1300 in total i bet with labour it would have been double at least

Why does the bracket look different on the dog bone mount just out of curiousity?

No idea but part numbers matched so I just swapped the brackets over

Looks like a good service and uprated goodie bag at the same time! Got any close ups on the rear brace around the carpet bit? Im fitting one when it comes from Andy and it looks a very neat job!

Looking back it would be easyier to just drop the engine out it was a pig to get the gear box out and then back in and you also need a strong engine hoist as you can see in the picture above. You have to remove alot of engine parts so it can be tilted so that takes time and also note that the instructions in the Haynes manual are not for a 6 speed box so some parts arnt very clear.

Apart from that it's easy lol it took us probably 2 days to do if you count in all the stripping down needed and make sure you have all the correct tools as some special items are needed I have been working on a list so I can post it up here so people know what is needed for what job hopefully it will then be pinned
