Induction Kit or panel filter

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, i have a 1.9 vrs freshly remapped by revo and i was just wondering what would be best use either thinking a pipercross viper induction kit (about £180) or should i go for a decent panel filter?? bearing in mind it already has the pd160 intake pipe :) and soon to be de-cat and and a free-flow stainless exhaust system to be fitted, well thats the plan anyway lol, any advise is much appreciated x

Panel filter is perfectly adequate and will only cost £40-£50. As for exhausts, there is no point in changing it as the standard one is pretty unrestrictive as it is.

All money to be spent on other mods :-D!

Induction kit = pointless chav mod. More about show and noise than performance. Just change the standard filter more regularly than specified and the standard intake is very well designed and gives all engines in the range more than adequate air supply.

I agree with above, just stick a panel filter in (K&N or Green). You don't get much performance gain from panel or Induction kit anyway.

BTW, You've done it the wrong way round. If you were planning to buy an exhaust and Filter, you should have fitted them before you got the remap, to gain maximum performance.

Oh and Welcome to Briskoda. :D

the revo maps pretty good to be fair, for the pd130 it takes it to 180bhp and 280 torques :) pulls like a train in 3rd and 4th gear, where u going for the map?

To be honest if u do good gear changes without slamming to clutch around it will be alrite, (make sure you get good contact before blasting it will stop clutch slip), i would say so yea, i didnt pay alot for it either cus the bloke who owns revo is one of our customers at work so got it on the cheap :) oh and btw it lights the front tyres up in 1st and 2nd lol

I want an induction kit with a bonnet vent. You may call it chav but it's not exactly a 1 litre Corsa... I think it could look pretty cool.
