EGR and Injectin quantity -vag com details for skoda octavia rider

Featured Replies

Hi,

I retrieved EGR data from channel 3 using VAG COM and custom USB hardware from FTDI chip. The data looks out of normal, esp the duty cycle and injection quantity. Could any one post the normal data for this? Also any steps to normalize the values?

EGR:

Engine speed: 903 RPM [870-950rpm]

MAF Specified: 250mg/str [230-370mg/H]

MAF Actual: 410mg/str [230-370mg/H]

EGR Duty cycle: 4.8% [40-75%]

Injected Quantity:

Engine speed: 903 RPM [870-950rpm]

Injection Quantity: 1.4mg/str [2.2-9.0mg/H]

Mod Piston Displ: 1.600V [ 1.45-2.0V]

Coolant Temp: 85.5 deg C [80-110 deg C]

EGR duty cycle, raise RPM to 2500 for 10 seconds, and I reckon EGR value when engine returns to idle, will most likely now be OK for 2 minutes.

mg/str injection numbers look fine, they have been reduced over the years to cut down NoX and Co2, and most data is way out of date.

Thanks.

For a moment the EGR turned out to be 40-50% and returned back to 4.8%

Also I explored web, and found when EGR is cutoff (Valve is off) the 4.8% represents this value.

Without knowing the emission, I've increased the injection quantity 2.0-2.2mg/Str to fit in the range of values mentioned in VAG COM.

I will try run on 2500 rpm and will update on exact value of EGR.

Also will the above change in injection cause good or harmful effect apart from emissions?

If you don't have any fault codes, or any hard data to use as a reference I would leave the injection quantities at factory settings. You may get a bit more smoke with higher values if the air mass doesn't alter to match the fueling.
