tailgate/boot lid problem.!

Featured Replies

i have a problem with my boot lid, i can open the boot from the switch on the drivers door but i cant open it directly from the switch on the boot lid its self.!

what is the most likely cause of this and how do i go about fixing it?

its not a major problem as i can open the boot via the interior switch, but never the less i want to fix this problem.

thanks

Just developed the same problem myself have removed the boot lid panel and it seems that there is power going to the switch so my next job is to remove the switch and check it out will keep you posted of the result

Sorry for the long delay with this one finally decided to investigate it today after removing the panel from the boot lid (just remove the two screws on the warning triangle then use brute force to remove the panel) I proceeded to remove the locking mechanism had the four nuts removed and was in the process of taking it out when I discovered that the plug on the right side of the unit was loose replugged it and hey presto problem sorted. I was glad as the unit consists of the number plate lights, boot switch, key barrel and remote unit I have no doubt apart from being a bitch to remove Mr skoda would only supply a complete unit which would cost more than the boot lid

Actually there are 2 more screws in the holes, where you pull the trunk down. At least mine had yesterday.

You are aware that the keyhole next to to switches can be set to lock the boot out from the exterior opener and that this also has a keylock function itself don't you?

The keylock in the driver's door disables the boot release switch in the driver's door.

Check that the keylock on the underside of the boot lid is not "locked". It has 3 positions - unlocked, locked and mechanical unlatch (biased). When unlocked, the key slot is parallel to the number plate.
