Yay! Finally got the call from the dealer yesterday, to say that my long-awaited Scout has finally been built (ordered December 2010 during the VAT free offer) and is slowly winging it's way from the Czech Republic. It possibly made it on the train to Germany yesterday - if not, will be the following Friday.

It's been so long, I can't even remember what they look like! Have only seen 3 on the road since I placed my order, and each time, they whizzed by too fast for me to have a good gawp!

Ordered the 2.0 TDI CR, with maxi dot, xenon headlights, alacantra upholstery, multi-function steering wheel, MDI thingie - and a few other bits and bobs.

Also getting a detachable tow bar fitted, retrospectively.

Coming just in time, as my old Focus is on it's last legs - and the new Scout should arrive around the time of my birthday.

I'm ridiculously excited.

It's going to be used for camping, shopping, dog taxi and pointing and laughing at other drivers stuck in the snow next winter! (Test drove it during the horrendous weather in the North East, and it scrambled through 18 inches of snow effortlessly).

Will be avidly reading the forum in future, but I'm not a bloke, so trying to get my head around all the terminology! Please be gentle with me as a newbie!

Oh, and the colour is Black Magic pearl metallic.

Mine was week 24 too (it was confirmed the week before) but I was too busy at work to check it had been built. Looks like skoda have batch-built Scouts; mine was ordered 22nd November, also during the VAT offer, and via DtD for a bit more discount

Not long until my A4 quattro with 203k miles is put out to pasture - if the scout is half the car I'll be a happy man (will be a bit sorry to see it go actually - not a bad innings for a turbocharged petrol engine).

Snap mine finally built in black magic as well can't wait for it to arrive, travelling to France in a couple of weeks so they still may be hope for it to arrive but if not I'll put that trip on their car!

I guess it makes sense to batch build, but still frustrating to see the projected date get further and further away (and being told by the dealer at the time of ordering that they already had a showroom model on order, which they'd just upgrade to a customer order, to accelerate the usual waiting list - it didn't! Assume now it was just a ruse to use them and not my local dealer). If we suddenly start to see Scouts popping up all over the place, we'll know the gave the moulds a dusting down and put to use!
