Featured Replies

Quick question gents, can you just fit 345mm disc's/pads and calipers onto your OEM set-up? on a 2006 VRS or do I need to get the carriers as well?

need calipers also, and lines..

I would be getting the calipers/pads and disc's but not the carriers, so I really need to know if I need to buy the carriers and how much are they?. (the hoses I will buy separate, something like goodridge braided hoses)

You will need all the parts from the S3/R32 setup. Don't waste your money just use OEM brake lines. ;)

They should look something like this but be warned they DO NOT FIT facelift cars without spacers or an angle grinder.

They fit on mine fine without the need for spacers!

Yeh Chris you need all the parts from the S3 setup. I used superb lines when I did it myself, can't remember the part no. though I'm afraid mate.

Oem R32 lines were only £14 ish, so that's what I used. The splash guards were even cheaper.

R32 fronts and OEM wheels. :wonder:

You have 15mm spacers in your sig though?

sorry my bad, meant to say Carriers, not sure what I was thinking there.

The spacers are on the rear. Front is standard. Neptunes fit with plenty of space to spare.

Dont forget that the S3/R32 brakes were also fitted on the 3.2 quattro A3, but were left unpainted and no smart brake pad clips on them (just small blank ones). With a bit of digging i found this out and managed to get my complete setup for the same price as i sold the standard brakes so cost me nothing :) (except a few hours prepping and painting the calipers and £25 for the S3 clips (new off a guy on the golfmkv forum that had sets left over)). I was lucky that the breakers didnt realise the cost of these brakes and extra lucky that the discs and pads were almost new when they turned up.
