How low before chassis notch

Featured Replies

Pretty much as title, how far can you lower a VRS before it needs a chassis notch?

Not sure if anyones went that low yet.

But i can see other parts of the car touching the ground first, before having to worry about driveshafts/chassis notching

I know of 2 Fabias that have been 'notched' and the answer to the OP is - pretty darn low before it needs doing.

Some people (myself included) are really wound down on coilovers and (so far), nothing is catching/rubbing...

I'd imagine that you'd need to be fully wound down on coilovers or on air to require a notch.

Have a look in the 'lowest fabia' thread ;)

Lower without chassis notch isn't possible over here.

I'm laying on the driveshaft.

Mine is about this low, as far down as possible on FK Highsports. No problems at all with around 100mm drop

I got bigger wheels than you though :) So it looks as low (in my mind)

I sit like this and don't catch scrub on anything

What are the specs of the wheels and tyres?

Looks like 205/45 R16 over 312's to me.

17's I think. Looks like too much room for them to be 16's

Matt

Says 205/40 17 on the sidewall of the tyre which is a good indication.

More to the point look at the make of tire... Bet they handle well :o

I don't drive my car hard enough to afford paying for expensive tyres. And these do pretty well

Wheels are bbs lm reps in 17" 8" wide with 205/40s

if your worried about the sump, I saw this in a performance vw mag.. don't know it any one else has any previous experience with the psi tuning shallow sump, it's gives about 1.5" of extra sump/ground clearance!
