the xenons have a blue tint and self level when you switch them on, so when you put them on in the dark they point at the floor then move up!! I cant be more exact than that!!

look for a washer in front bumper.

Or easier - if you have a switch to adjust the beam height next to the light controls on dashboard you have halogens and if you dont you have Xenons.

yes i have a switch to adjust the beam height so i unfortunately have halogens. am i right in thinking the bulb size is H7 ?

also as we are on the subject, is it possible or have anybody converted from halogens to xenons.?

I wouldn't it'll cost a fortune when one of the Xenons break.

I have retrofitted Xenon. Not original, but it works like a charm. It's illegal in the UK, but not in Denmark with washer fitted.

Not really, Philips D2S bulbs are only £25 these days. Ballasts don't seem to fail. Yes, the ballasts are a bit more expensive. :wonder:

You can have halogens with headlight washers, but no factory xenons come with manual levelling.

HID conversion works very well, read my post here for more details. Plus after experience with Octavia's xenon auto levelling, I prefer manual adjustment.

I currently run

2x 75W/60W out xenon low beams, flat beam, 5000 lumen on the road, razor sharp cutoff, you can precisely adjust while driving.

2x standard 55W H3 fogs + 2x aux Hella Micro De fogs converted to 85W(75W out) HID, 7000 lumen on the road

2x 55W Osram Nightbreaker high beams + 2x aux Hella Micro DE Xenons converted to 100W/(90W out) HID, 22000 lumen on the road

All aux lights are relayed. They are located within lower grille and very discrete.

Peak useable on the road light output low beam + high beam: 27000 lumen, or daytime driving in the middle of the night in the forest :)

It is possible to improve on this setup, but I think I'll do it on my next car...
