Towbar help required

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Life is changing and I need to fit a tow bar on the Octy. Naturally I want the least visual impact so we are having a swan neck with a small under cut under the valance. We will only tow a box trailer so no massive loads so single wiring. However im really confused at the variance in costs 200-400 quid and the merit of dedicated wires / normal.

Im in the Mids and would really like any info, good recs, and mostly advice on what is good and what isnt.

Regards

Russ

Ive got a westfelia detachable towbar on my vrs and when balls removed and electrics fold up under bumper and you carnt tell its there

the most expensive options will give you active esp aon the trailer and bulb failure warnings etc, i have a fixed towbar i use regularly with a box trailer and went for the cheepest option - it works fine.

I have a fixed towbar on mine and it was fitted for a decent price. Im not keen on the swan neck as if your not careful you can end up knocking your bumper with the hitch and it can look a right mess when thats happenned  I had a swan neck on my old Felicia and I didn't like it at all.
