Yeti remote - strange behaviour.

Featured Replies

For the last few weeks, I've been unable to drive due to a stookie (that's a plaster cast for the uninformed :) ), so my Yeti has only been driven by my wife on very short journeys - local shops etc.

Yesterday, she took me to the doctors and I noticed when she used her remote, the car "clicked" (that's the only way I can describe it.)

With my remote, (which is the one we normally use) I had disabled the "beep" ages ago, but this isn't a "beep", it's more of a "click" and it happens when any of the remote functions are selected - lock, unlock or boot unlock. It seems to work OK and I haven't had the opportunity to try "my own" remote yet.

Is this a "feature"?

Hi Jock,

hope your getting better after your unfortunate mishap. Take it your not meaning the clunk the locks make when they move but an additional noise :wonder: If you want I'm quite happy to pop over if you wish to compare with mine; send me a PM.

Regards,

TP

I just tried it with "my" remote and it works normally, but with the spare (which my wife uses) it clicks - it's most definitely coming form the alarm and not a clunk - it's a double click when disarming and a single when arming.

Page 27 of your user manual describes an option like this

"ATA confirm

Here you can set if a signal tone should sound additionally

when activating or deactivating the anti-theft alarm system"

which should be available from a "comport" option in the multidot display ...

Never tried it - my Yeti does not have ATA - just found it in the manual ...

Someone pointed out to me that various options are related to a specific key, so it does make senses, that your key is "silent", while your wife's "makes a noise" ---

If I activate the signal tone, it doesn't sound like the click I get from the spare remote - it's more of a "beep" than a "click" (very difficult to describe specific sounds here! )

Yep you always have to save all the changes you make to the Maxidot to BOTH keys! My one key on delivery had this irritating ATA alarm noises and the other did not. Soon fixed though!
