Going up....

Featured Replies

I've got a vRS. It has the convenience circuit (i think that's what they call it, but swmbo has taken the car and manual atm) which allows winding up of the windows using the key in the door.

I was wondering whether it's possible to achieve this via the remote. I've seen a thread on here about an add on that allows this, but I'm unsure if this is required for a vRS, or whether it's just a reprogramming job.

Can anybody enlighten me?

Thanks in advance.

i know on a lot of cars if you press the lock button on the remote key and hold it then all the windows and sunroof will close and the opposite if you press the unlock button but don't know if this works on the octy vRS as have never tried it ?

I don't think the one touch feature works off the key fob....if the windows are down and you close the car using the key and hold it way over to the close direction...all the windows will close....the same is true when opening the car...hold it way over to the open side and all windows will drop.

You need the Alientech controller. There's a post somewhere (from the very early days) showing how a user fitted it. There may be other 3rd party products that do the same thing now.

Edit: found it here on Dean's website. Hope he doesn't mind me linking.

Thanks for that. Shame it can't be done without extra hardware.

I used that as a guide when fitting mine :-)

They don't take much time to fit and work well.

Monkey boy did the same thing on his vRS with a module from Audi i think... might be worth PM'ing a few people...

Agreed \ indeed, very handy in the summer....

i thought about it last summer but didnt get round to it, to be fair i saw the holding the key in the unlock position a waste of time if you'd already unlocked the car with the fob
