Big increase 'makes sense' as you're likely to use the power, from an insurancer's perspective that makes you more likely to be involved in a more costly accident if one were to happen.

Also in the < 25 age group, which is painfull.

My Mrs is < 25 and even with NCD it would instantly nearly double premiums.
