Silver Car

Featured Replies

After buying my new car, i am looking for some advice on what shampoo, polish and wax to get for a silver car. What i am really looking for is products that are easy to use, and can be applied by hand. I have also looked at snow foam lances do you guys think they are worth it?

God you've probably opened a can of worms here mate!

Firstly with the snow foam... I use it and never really thought much of it , but now I rate it a lot. I think sometimes people expect it the work like magic and clean the car for them, but personally I think it's all down to how well protected the bodywork is. I find that if it's left to dwell for a decent amount of time before being jet washed off then it really does shift the thick off and dead flies/blood. I use Autobrite Magifoam and it's better than anything else I've used.

Product wise I clayed my car last year then gave it a going over with Autoglym Super Resin Polish, dead easy to apply by hand and looks great on my silver Fabia. I then put on a couple of coats of Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection each week for about 4-6 weeks (maybe a bit of overkill). After that I never bothered doing anything else until Baker21 (pro detailer) recommended Finish Kare FK1000P wax. That stuff is the dogs and would totally recommend it to anyone. Piece of cake to apply and remove and the finish is superb on top of the EGP.

I`ve not used them myself but i`ve heard Jeffs products give a amazing finish on silver and can all be applied by hand.

....have a look here mate:

Super resin polish, Extra Gloss then a good wax (i use collinite 476s) over the top should see you sorted. Works well on the VRS and the silver Bora.
