Can the following be done with unregisterd VCDS lite?

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have a 2011 Octavia FL 1.2 TSI Elegance model and I

wanted to know if the following can be done using a simple usb-CAN interface (like this one) and

VCDS lite (unregistered version):

1) Enable Anti-Hijack (autolocking the doors)

2) Enable DRLs

3) Enable Cornering Fog lights

I would go to the dealers but they want alot of $$. Some of the things they said that they aren't sure if its possible,

eventhough I know its possible because many Briskoda members have done it.

Thanks for the info...

Nope, that's non CANBUS only.

Ok, then what should I look for ? how do I know if an interface supports CAN? (is it OBD version tha tells?)

I'll be happy for suggestions for an interface that will work with CAN and VCDS lite (that ships international).

If I get the right interface, will VCDS lite be able to do the above?

Thanks.

The only interfaces that officially fully support CANBUS are the genuine Ross-Tech ones (these are the people who write the VCDS software) according to the Ross-Tech's Distributor List the only supplier in the middle East is M2K they do not have prices on their website (from the very quick look I have done) but this is what you are looking for:

VCDS

In the UK the genuine interface is typically around £260

Ok, I understand. Let say a get a proper interface cable, would I be able to do the activation of these (DRLS, etc)

with the downloadable version of VCDS (lets say version 10.6)?

When I spoke to the dealer about activating anti-hijack, he didn't really know what I was talking about. After I explained,

he wasn't so sure about the activation. Its a real pitty that official Skoda dealers don't know or are unwilling

to do this kind of stuff.

Yes - The genuine cables used version 10.6 as the software (currently 10.6.4) and you can update it as soon as updates become available on the ross-tech website. The cable is what you pay the money for, and it does the lot, everything.. :)

Yes you will be able to do everything you have listed ... plus a whole lot more with the genuine interface

Silly me!

After reading some posts I realized that I DO have the anti-hijack option on the maxidot!

Just didn't know it wasn't called anti-hijack :|

The other options still need VCDS I guess.

Thanks for the info!
